The Best Way to Slow Down Audio
Have you ever wished you could play along with a mp3 that was too fast? I certainly have. It turns out that there is software made especially for slowing down MP3 and other audio recordings. For example, Pitch Switch is an easy to use program that can slow down MP3s, WAV files, M4A (iTunes) and more. It costs only $40 and you can use it on any number of recordings. Using it is simple, you just open your MP3 file and move the tempo slider to speed it up and slow it down. Pitch Switch doesn’t change the key which is incredible! Pitch Switch shows the speed (tempo) in the bottom right hand corner of the software window.
Pitch Switch can do more than just slow down your MP3s. It can adjust the pitch of your songs too. You can change the key of your MP3 files by a semitone at a time. It’s really cool because you can change the key as the music is playing back.
The last thing I should mention is that you can also store your modified songs. Once you slow down an MP3 (or change the key) you can save it as a new file and transfer it on your iPod. I’ve found Pitch Switch to be extremely useful and I highly recommend you try it too. There is a free trial available on their website at pitch-switch.com.
